About This Event
This is a unique student exhibition celebrating Refugee Week 2026, titled Co‑Existence.
Led by Chester City of Sanctuary, in partnership with The Bishops’ Blue Coat Church of England High School and Storyhouse, this exhibition reflects a culture of welcome for those seeking sanctuary.
This year’s theme, Courage, from the Latin cor meaning “heart” , celebrates the resilience and creativity of refugees. Visitors are invited to reflect on the experiences of those forced to flee their homes in search of safety.
We are proud that our students have created powerful and empathetic work for this exhibition.
“The work the young people have produced is inspiring, empathetic and beautiful, giving us all courage and hope.” Heather Swainston, Trustee, Chester City of Sanctuary
“This unique collaboration is inspiring and celebrates the courage within us all.” Gen Jones, Bishops’ Blue Coat Church of England High School.
