About This Event
York Youth Orchestra presents an exciting and visually striking concert in Malton, combining live orchestral music with dance in a richly theatrical programme.
The orchestra is joined by dancers from Kirkham Henry Performing Arts for a full ballet set to music from Manuel de Falla’s The Three Cornered Hat. The collaboration brings Spanish rhythm, character and storytelling vividly to life, blending movement and music in a way rarely experienced in youth orchestra concerts.
The programme also features internationally acclaimed guitarist Federico Pendenza, performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s iconic Concierto de Aranjuez. With its instantly recognisable melodies and emotional depth, the concerto provides a powerful centrepiece to the evening.
Performed by talented young musicians from across York and North Yorkshire, York Youth Orchestra is known for its ambitious repertoire and high musical standards, offering young players the opportunity to work alongside professional soloists and artists.
The concert takes place on Sunday 15 March at Milton Rooms, promising an engaging and colourful evening that celebrates collaboration between young musicians and dancers in a vibrant live performance.
