About This Event
Join us for a joyful 30-minute celebration of music-making as pupils from Lakeside Primary Academy, Haxby Road Primary, and Park Grove Primary take to the stage alongside the York Youth Orchestra at York St John University’s Creative Centre – a stunning £17 million performance venue opened in 2021.
This special concert will feature the premiere of a brand-new work by York composer Tim Brooks, written especially for the occasion and performed with full symphony orchestra. The piece celebrates the creativity and enthusiasm of young people across York and provides a wonderful opportunity for primary pupils to experience performing with an orchestra in a professional setting.
Under the direction of Ben Crick, the York Youth Orchestra continues to inspire young musicians across the city, offering a platform for talented students to develop their skills and share their love of music with the community.
The concert promises to be uplifting, family-friendly, and inspiring for all ages – a true showcase of York’s young musical talent working together in harmony.
